Today, LUS participates in an Advisory Council on the new agricultural policy, often called CAP (Common Agriculture Policy) or GJP (Common Agricultural Policy). The agenda for the two hours is agriculture-heavy but we emphasize the importance of wholeness and rural development!
LUS awards the prize for Young Leader of the Year and Leader Project of the Year
When we meet in Gotland for our joint LUS dinner, the award ceremony will take place! More information will be available shortly. The projects should be from the current program period, so start thinking now about which projects you want to highlight and nominate! 😊

From LUS, a letter has been drafted regarding the input that SLU's Mission Rural has provided for the work on the New Rural Policy (a proposal from the Government is expected in June next year). Workshop with the Swedish Board of Agriculture on streamlining the work with projects and investment support
The Swedish Board of Agriculture has invited to a three-day workshop, May 26-28, focusing on leader administration and improvements. Both Local Development Sweden and Leader will be represented.

Leader does so many good things – and we know that there are various evaluations conducted around the country that show the impact of leader and the leader methodology. We would like to receive your completed evaluations with the goal of compiling the results from them and utilizing it in our future communication and influence. Rural Parliament 2026, Skellefteå May 29 – 31
LUS has appointed a working group for our participation in the Rural Parliament 2026. Thanks to the extra resource funds, we can step forward with broader participation.

Rural Week – over for this time
Hope you managed to take part in activities during Rural Week. Wonderful to have a week focused on the countryside, even though it is our focus 365 days a year 😊 LUS held its seminar on our points of influence last Thursday, and what we presented is:
Reintroduce multi-fund solution for the next program period – we need to work with a broader toolbox
Strengthen the leader budget – our projects make a difference, and we can do more. An invested leader crown returns many times over
Delegated responsibility and self-determination – LAG does a solid job and the applications are scrutinized. The strategy is established – take that into account.
Shorten processing times – a point LUS continues to work actively on
